# The Forge: Industrial Raw A high-performance fitness arena at EC Mor, Chattogram. Location: EC Mor, Chattogram Typology: Commercial fitness and wellness Status: Design concept / visualization Year: 2026 ## Design vision Conceived as an antidote to the sterile, white-box look of typical commercial gyms, The Forge was designed as an "arena of focus" — raw, grounded, and intensely physical. The space was stripped to its structural bones, using exposed brick, rusted Corten steel, and red neon. ## Reception and lounge The entry is designed to feel immediate and impactful: a floating concrete reception desk against rough-hewn brick with illuminated branding, next to a member lounge softened with modern seating and custom graffiti art. ## Layout and materials The floor plan runs along a central linear axis, with a custom zig-zag ceiling grid acting as a directional guide through the training zones. Materials emphasize texture over polish: rusted Corten steel panels in the heavy lifting zones evoke an old foundry, while cardio and bench stations sit along the glazed facade to take in panoramic night views of the EC Mor skyline. Custom overhead bulkheads in expanded metal mesh, painted deep red, hide HVAC and cabling while keeping the raw industrial aesthetic.
